Accountability

We work with NDIS support coordinators from sole traders to larger not-for-profit or government organisations to fulfil our duty of care and responsibility for all people in our Sanctuary.

Relationships

We aim to build lasting and strong relationships with family members, support coordinators, and other stakeholders to ensure the long-term success of all participants, no matter how long their stay.

Compassion and Safety

We understand the needs of people who have experienced trauma, have mental health challenges, or have come from Child Protection or the justice system. We treat each participant with love and aim to guide them along their journey in a safe environment.

Independence

Family Centred Sanctuary is about choice. We believe that participants should decide their own way through life from the day-to-day all the way up to what they want to be in the future.

Innovation

Family Centred Sanctuary uses a trauma-informed practice to understand behaviours and personalities displayed by our participants. We also monitor and record behavioural triggers in response to environmental factors that have direct impact on the participant’s emotional wellbeing through an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) approach. We use play and music therapy to build rapport and a sense of belonging.

Family

Family Centred Sanctuary embraces a family therapeutic model where business owners, workers and participants are all treated like family. Participants are expected to pitch in around the home because they want to, not because they have to. We welcome participants into our family, surrounding them with love and care while maintaining routines and guidance. We hope even when they leave, they will want to come back!
